At SciRio, we are building the first-ever impactful ecosystem for Science Communicators in India. Our mission is very simple — support and nurture Science Communicators to become better and make science accessible to the world. Here’s how we do it.

• Are a student or researcher in any of the sciences or journalism who would like to gain experience in SciComm by building this SciComm enterprise with us.
• Care more about what you learn and the impact that you make.
• Are willing to learn, take ownership of all your tasks, and execute independently. We are a small enterprise, and so sometimes you might be involved in other tasks beyond your job description.

Our company adopts a remote style of working. So all positions mentioned below are Remote unless specified.

Common requirements:

1. We prefer (but are not limited to) hiring folks who are female, non-binary, or from any marginalized communities.
2. Students have at least a bachelor’s degree in the sciences, journalism, or mass communication

Content Manager (Full-time)

You will be involved in understanding and developing the outreach strategy for SciRio and building a brand presence on the internet. Some responsibilities include managing social media, developing content, curating resources, etc.

Ideal requirements

1. Have a basic understanding of the science communication ecosystem in India
2. Have good copywriting skills
3. Some experience managing social media (knowledge of social media algorithms, making creative posts, basic video editing, etc.)

Salary

INR 18,000 per month onwards (negotiable based on your experience wrt the above requirements)

Time commitment

Five days a week for at least six months, renewed on a contractual basis
